Ultra! Mega! KO!
Here, last Friday was a bit good, wasn’t it? The place was totally rammed. One of the busiest nights of the year so far, and everyone was bang up for partying. The turning point was when the Soulwax remix of MGMT ‘Kids’ was dropped. People seemed to be up for a good dance at that point, and it turned into more or less a full on rave for a while. I loved how many people were up for giving it stacks, especially Laura and Conor (pictured above) who danced like champions in front of the DJ box for most of the night.
It quite possibly the hardest set I have ever played, and there were a few times where I was genuinely taken aback that people were going for the tunes that were being played. It reminded me of the sweaty techno haven, Vico’s, from back in the day. The fact that some of the most banging tunes were actually requests just made it even sweeter. Like this first wee gem. I don’t know the name of the guy who asked for it, but I couldn’t believe someone made a shout out for ‘Moombah’. Pure banging.

I’m now going to post a Chromeo track in honour of John D’Arcy, who is always guaranteed to ask me for ‘Fancy Footwork’. I tend to play the Crookers remix every time, but I do love it. This is their latest tune, and it’s been kicking about for a wee while. It’ a cracker.

And the last tune of the post is for Kim. She had literally eight people pester me for this throughout the course of the night. When I eventually played it, Dave Shannon near wet his wee pants apparently. I wish he had of soiled himself, who have taught him a lesson for pointing that playing Shakira was ‘made me gay’. Yeah, whateva!

Yo! Welcome to the GIGANTIC blog. The primary purpose of this place is to promote music that we’re into, and that we’d like other people to hear too. We want to try and help break new bands and tracks, and also like to dig up old classics that we think need more exposure. Essentially, we want to help makes tunes Gigantic. Of course, we do enjoy throwing out the big pop and electro bangers as well, we’re not music snobs.
