The Panic Dots Post

OK, continuing on with the theme of letting people take over the blog from time to time, we have Richard ‘Panic Dots’ Crothers selecting today’s tunes. He’s got good taste in music, and we especially love his Big Pink choice ‘Dominos’, such a track that is defo a 2009 Gigantic anthem. Let him know what you think of his picks by commenting below. Also make sure you check out his website and podcast at Panicdots.com. Over to Rik…
“I always get a real buzz out of hearing new bands that im really into. There are so many great new acts about at the minute. One that keeps on popping up are The xx, a London quartet featuring the dual lead vocals of Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim. Both vocals are very soft, sexual and really draw you in right away. My jaw dropped on the first play of their album when Romy’s voice began. This is definitely a group that are gonna make waves in the very near future. Have a thousand listens to this track.”

“The Gigantic blog is obviously the hotspot to find big new tunes before they hit the dance floors, well I have a wee treat for all you dance junkies. The next track I have on offer is by Waxdolls. It has a wee cheesy lyric in it, but I kinda like it. It has live drums, wicked synth and a hard, grinding bass. Perfect for the dance floor.”

“K, its time for another personal fav. The Big Pink are Robbie Furze and Milo Cordell. Both from London, Milo is behind the celebrated Merok label, which has helped to launch both Klaxons and Crystal Castles. Already clearly very impressive. Their first single off their new album is called Dominos and that is my third and last treat. Their album A Brief History Of Love has a stack of potential singles and is definitely something that we’ll be hearing more of.”

Yo! Welcome to the GIGANTIC blog. The primary purpose of this place is to promote music that we’re into, and that we’d like other people to hear too. We want to try and help break new bands and tracks, and also like to dig up old classics that we think need more exposure. Essentially, we want to help makes tunes Gigantic. Of course, we do enjoy throwing out the big pop and electro bangers as well, we’re not music snobs.
