Stephen McCauley Throws It Down
This Hip Hop Week idea has turned out to be insanely popular. We’ve had so many entries and suggestions that it could easily develop into Hip Hop Month. It won’t, though, so we’re gonna be faced with some tough choices about what to include come the end of the week. Still, that’s a good place to be.
Today’s selection is courtesy of Stephen McCauley, the presenter of the Electric Mainline show on Radio Foyle, and all round great guy. All three of his picks are classic cuts and it’s a pleasure to post them up. It also gives us a great excuse to put up a picture of Public Enemy. The less said about the Flavor Of Love the better though, eh? Anyways, enjoys these tunes and make sure to listen in to Stephen’s radio show, the man has impeccable taste.

Public Enemy – Shut Em Down (Pete Rock Remix)

Yo! Welcome to the GIGANTIC blog. The primary purpose of this place is to promote music that we’re into, and that we’d like other people to hear too. We want to try and help break new bands and tracks, and also like to dig up old classics that we think need more exposure. Essentially, we want to help makes tunes Gigantic. Of course, we do enjoy throwing out the big pop and electro bangers as well, we’re not music snobs.
