So Chromey

We’ve been getting asked to drop Chromeo in the club an increasing amount lately, which is great as I’ve been hammering their funky electro into the ears of all and sundry for years. It’s always nice when a quality band crosses over into mainstream request territory.

Just took a minute to count the number of remixes of Chromeo tracks that I have on file and there were over 30 of them. Quite possibly the single most remixed artist in my collection. They’ve also managed to eek out releases from their Fancy Footwork album for nearly two years. Good lads. Let’s hope they get some new material out in 2009. In the meantime, here is a rework of the electropoptastic ’100%’ by Treasure Fingers that has been doing the rounds lately.

Chromeo are also pretty darn tasty remixers in their own right too. Been getting a lot of shouts (mainly from Stuart Gilmore, tbf) for their remix of Vampire Weekend‘s ‘The Kids Don’t Stand A Chance’. Wicked tune, but does anyone else get visions of Sting while listening to it? I know I do (and so does Donal).

And to return the favour to Treasure Fingers, here is Chromeo‘s remix of their tune ‘Cross The Dancefloor’. It seriously sounds like it came from another decade (clearly the Eighties), which is retrotastic.

HEY!!! I pointed out the similarities of Sting when Donal was still a twinkle in his daddies eye…
