of Montreal, in Belfast
To mark the fairly momentous occasion that is of Montreal playing Belfast, I’ve dug up a few remixes and oddities to post here. They’re such as awesome band with a really rich back catalogue, if yr not into them yet you should spend a bit of time with their records.
First up is a Jon Brion reworking of ‘An Eluardian Instance’ that first appeared on Pitchfork a few days ago. It’s not a totally radical reworking, but it’s pretty cool.

If you’re looking for a more extreme remix, then this Mad Decent version of ‘Id Engager’ will be your bag. It adds a lot more punch to the original track, and gives it a sleazier touch.

of Montreal – Id Engager (Mad Decent Remix)
This Minitel Rose remix of ‘Gallery Piece’ emphasises the swooshing element of the song to give it a more dreamlike feel. I like it.

of Montreal – Gallery Piece (Minitel Rose Remix)
And finally we have this wee mashup for fun. It’s Blondie ‘Call Me’ spliced into ‘Id Engager’. It works really well! It comes from the MySplice mixtape type thang which you can learn more about here.

Blondie Vs. of Montreal – Debbie Does Montreal

Yo! Welcome to the GIGANTIC blog. The primary purpose of this place is to promote music that we’re into, and that we’d like other people to hear too. We want to try and help break new bands and tracks, and also like to dig up old classics that we think need more exposure. Essentially, we want to help makes tunes Gigantic. Of course, we do enjoy throwing out the big pop and electro bangers as well, we’re not music snobs.
