New Music Monday

Ah, the start of a fresh week, and what better way to kick it off than with some fresh new music to get your lugholes around.
The first track of the day is the new cut from Azealia Banks, ‘Liquorice’. We’ve been caning ‘212’ at Gigantic for months, and it’s a track that has really crossed her over. Now the super talented lady is being heralded as one of the number one acts to keep an eye on this year. She sold out her Dublin gig in 20 minutes, so there is no denying how hot she is right now. ‘Liquorice’ isn’t as much of a straight up banger as ‘212’, yet it still kills it.

Next up is a brand new track from SBTRKT. The masked man produced one of the best of albums of 2011, and if you haven’t worn it out yet then there is something very wrong with you. ‘Ride To Freedom’ is the b-side to ‘Hold On’, his new single, and it’s pretty darned tasty.

The last song of the post is from Grimes, AKA Claire Boucher. She’s a Canadian artist who is due to drop her debut album in March on 4AD. ‘Genesis’ is a subtle, floating and sweet song that creeps up, puts its hand on your leg, seduces you and takes you home. Delightful.

Yo! Welcome to the GIGANTIC blog. The primary purpose of this place is to promote music that we’re into, and that we’d like other people to hear too. We want to try and help break new bands and tracks, and also like to dig up old classics that we think need more exposure. Essentially, we want to help makes tunes Gigantic. Of course, we do enjoy throwing out the big pop and electro bangers as well, we’re not music snobs.
