Yo! Welcome to the GIGANTIC blog. The primary purpose of this place is to promote music that we’re into, and that we’d like other people to hear too. We want to try and help break new bands and tracks, and also like to dig up old classics that we think need more exposure. Essentially, we want to help makes tunes Gigantic. Of course, we do enjoy throwing out the big pop and electro bangers as well, we’re not music snobs.

Massive! Huge! GIGANTIC!
Last week was big. Like, really big. It was quite possibly the busiest GIGANTIC night ever. There was a really good crowd right from the start, and it just kept filling up. It was mad. The place went off, and the party then ended up back at my apartment, where it kept going until the wee hours of the morning.
It was a really lovely mix of peeps too. Loads of old school heads, which means being able to get away with playing GIGANTIC anthems from way back, right at peak time. Here are a few highlights of the set.
This tune was one of the turning points in the night, and something that I didn’t expect. I was playing a bit of disco warm-up tunes to heat the room, when Pete Donaldson (techno DJ and producer extraordinaire) came up and asked for Skee Lo ‘I Wish’. It’s a total tune, and pretty much as soon as it was dropped the floor filled up, and it stayed that way till the end of the night.

The next track was a great coincidence. I had been scanning through my tunes at the start of the night, and pulled out Marmaduke Duke. I almost dropped it as soon as I saw it, but for some reason I held off. A wee while later Grace came up and asked it I could play it for a friend of hers. Great track, delighted to play it.

And this is the song I probably enjoyed playing the most all night. I hadn’t played it in absolutely ages, and it’s one of the biggest GIGANTIC anthems from the past load of years. Total hands in the air moment, and tons of fun to dance to. Can’t believe it hadn’t been blogged already, criminal. Friendly Fires ‘Paris’.
