In The Morning, This Must Be The Place

Just thought I’d take a quick opportunity to post up a few of the best songs from last Friday’s set. It was a pretty good night. It took a while to warm up, but it got jumping in the end, which is what matters really.
It was good to see some old school Gigantic people down as well. One of whom, Ian Templeton, was responsible for this first pick. It’s a Junior Boys song, and it was the first time I’ve ever had a request for the band at the club. It’s from their second album So This Is Goodbye, which is a completely immense record. Really enjoyed playing it, total treat.

The next track is a song that has started to creep into every one of my DJ sets. I think it was first brought up as a set suggestion in the AU office one day, although apparently Catherine Maguire has been asking for it forever. One of the best Talking Heads tunes of all time.

Talking Heads – This Must Be The Place
A special mention should go out to Nadine and Tamara for last Friday. They seemed to make it their own special mission to get me as drunk as possible. A point to note: Rum, Goldschlager, Ale and Buckfast are not a good combination. Bleugh!

Yo! Welcome to the GIGANTIC blog. The primary purpose of this place is to promote music that we’re into, and that we’d like other people to hear too. We want to try and help break new bands and tracks, and also like to dig up old classics that we think need more exposure. Essentially, we want to help makes tunes Gigantic. Of course, we do enjoy throwing out the big pop and electro bangers as well, we’re not music snobs.
