Gigantisch Ist Fantastisch

Wee Hannah Lilley. She was a regular at Gigantic for ages, then she had to go off and study in Germany for a year. Pft. Well, she’s back home for a bit, and because we’re such painfully nice people, we’ve decided to dedicate this afternoon’s post to her, in a roundabout way.

The three tracks here are all related to Germany in some fashion. Like this first tune, from Errors. It’s called Germany. I think that’s self-explanatory enough, yes?

Errors – Germany

And how about Kraftwerk (being remixed by Orbital, just for added sexual electronicness)? They’re German. That’s obvious too.

Kraftwerk – Expo 2000 Orbital Mix

This last one is a bit of a sneaky one. It’s a track by Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, which is the brainchild of ace producer Riton. He’s not German to be honest, he just gave his project a German name. It does have a very German sound though, not to mention the fact that it’s brilliant (go buy the whole album now).

Eine Kleine Nachtmusik – Ertrinken

And we’re done. Feel free to post any of your own Germanic suggestions below.

The guest list for the club tonight is open too, so holla our way if you would like on.

Needs more Krautrock! (Orbital remixes of Kraftwerk tunes don’t count ;-) )

So I’ll suggest Seeland by Neu! aaaaand Immer Wieder by Harmonia (who featured Michael Rother from Neu!

Both awesome.

Posting a track by Kraftwerk as an advocate for german music in the year 2010 is bit unimaginative … if not cheesy. The post picture indeed rules. Dont Hassle the Hoff! ;)

Nena – 99 Luftballoons! Bit late I know, but if ever there’s need again for German themed tunes!

Hey, I’ve been to germany a couple times and i gotta say the music you put up here doesn’t sound like the german experience i had for the past two summers. I have family in Germany and everytime i come there we party to a group called Frittenbude, Crazy german in your face electro that just yells out complicated german lyrics that everyone in germany seems to know!

Another great german group for all of you to check out is EGOTRONIC! they’re slick, german rockstars that love electro music.

This is defintely way too late but i was on a downloading binge and came to this and got excited and then said …. wtf? No offense, it’s great but not what i heard in germany.
