Yo! Welcome to the GIGANTIC blog. The primary purpose of this place is to promote music that we’re into, and that we’d like other people to hear too. We want to try and help break new bands and tracks, and also like to dig up old classics that we think need more exposure. Essentially, we want to help makes tunes Gigantic. Of course, we do enjoy throwing out the big pop and electro bangers as well, we’re not music snobs.

Friday Remixes
Yeo! After a short break, GIGANTIC has resumed normal service. This means that the blog will be updated regularly once again, and that the club night is back in action.
However, there has been one massive change in this time. The Bunker at Lavery’s is no more. It has been completely renovated from top to bottom, and renamed as Mister Tom’s. The place looks great, and it is a massive improvement on the old club. This is good news. What hasn’t changed, however, is the music policy. It’ll still be a healthy mix of beats, indie, electro and quality pop (along with whatever else goes, of course).
To kick off the first week back, and to mark the change in the bar, this blog post is dedicated to some great new remixes I’ve came across.
The first track is a remix by RAC. He’s a great remixer, and I’ve been playing his reworking or Yeah Yeah Yeahs ‘Zero’ for ages. Here he is giving his personal treatment to Delorean‘s ‘Stay Close’ I love Delorean, and there is a good chance I actually prefer this to the original. At the very least, it’s definitely better for playing in a club environment.

Up next is a reworking of another band who always go down a storm in the club – Sleigh Bells. This Clique New Trends remix takes the laid back ‘Rill Rill’ and injects a dose of dancefloor workout. Excellent stuff.

And this last track is a remix of off-kilter indie popsters Architecture In Helsinki by Clock Opera. It’s a glitchy, slightly spazzed out version, and it works really well.
