Don’t Worry, We’ve Got It Covered
I randomly found this cover version over on the Headphone Sex blog and liked it so much that I had to share it here as well. Here The Glimmers take an Eighties-tastic track and turn into a sleazy, punky groover of a song. It’d be a bit creepy getting physical to this version, but hey, be my guest. I didn’t know who The Glimmers were until this track, but am definitely going to spend a bit of time investigating them now.

The track has also provided a great excuse to post up a few other classic punk and post-punk cover version from back in the day.
First off we have The Slits reimagining this Marvin Gaye classic. The bassline is tremendous and the drums are just delightful.

The Slits – Heard It Through The Grapevine
And next we have Devo taking the Rolling Stones and making them sound jerkier and edgier then they themselves were ever capable of. Gotta love a bit of Devo.

Yo! Welcome to the GIGANTIC blog. The primary purpose of this place is to promote music that we’re into, and that we’d like other people to hear too. We want to try and help break new bands and tracks, and also like to dig up old classics that we think need more exposure. Essentially, we want to help makes tunes Gigantic. Of course, we do enjoy throwing out the big pop and electro bangers as well, we’re not music snobs.
