Come Down With Me, I’m Kind Of A Big Deal

Today’s Come Down With Me post is dedicated to a single band, namely Big Deal. Their album came out in the middle of 2011, but I only developed a serious crush on it towards the end of the year. I was driving back from a visit to see my mum in Mullingar, which is right in the middle of Ireland for those who like geography, It was early on a Sunday morning, the sun was making the world brighter if not warmer, and I needed some soothing tunes to fit my super mellow mood. I fired on Big Deal’s album Lights Out and it couldn’t have been more perfect. They’re a boy/girl duo (though they prefer to be referred to as a band) and their music consists of nothing more than an electric guitar, an acoustic guitar, and their vocals. You might think this sounds minimal and boring, but the songwriting is so strong that it doesn’t need anything else lumped on top.
Here are the first three tracks from the record, I strongly recommend that you get a hold of the whole thing, stick it on, and melt into your bed for a while. Dreamy slacker alt pop of the highest order.

Yo! Welcome to the GIGANTIC blog. The primary purpose of this place is to promote music that we’re into, and that we’d like other people to hear too. We want to try and help break new bands and tracks, and also like to dig up old classics that we think need more exposure. Essentially, we want to help makes tunes Gigantic. Of course, we do enjoy throwing out the big pop and electro bangers as well, we’re not music snobs.
