Yeahhh! It’s another Friday! To celebrate this momentous occasion, we are delivering some super tasty treats right to your ears. All three tracks today are certified winners, and if they had to race against each other, it would be some sort of crazy three-way tie.
First up, we’ve got a track from the new Foals album Total Life Forever. The record is dead ace, and is a change in direction from the dancey math-rock of their debut. The tunes now are much more lush and dense, with more depth and delicate touches. It’s a grower, and rewards repeated listens. They are also on the cover of the new AU Magazine. You should go read that, and buy the record.

OK, I admit it, I’m pretty late to The National party. Everyone raved about them for ages, and for some reason I just didn’t get it. This new album though, holy crap, I now understand. High Violet is totally immense, and I think it’s time I dug back through their back catalogue and made myself a new friend. This track has been requested the past few times I’ve been DJing. Not necessarily a dancefloor filler, but a truly epic tune nonetheless.

Credit for this last pick goes out to Kimbo, as does credit for pointing out just how class the new Tokyo Police Club album Champ is. They are another band who seem to have really matured their sound and songwriting, and have seriously came up trumps on this record. 100% good.

Yo! Welcome to the GIGANTIC blog. The primary purpose of this place is to promote music that we’re into, and that we’d like other people to hear too. We want to try and help break new bands and tracks, and also like to dig up old classics that we think need more exposure. Essentially, we want to help makes tunes Gigantic. Of course, we do enjoy throwing out the big pop and electro bangers as well, we’re not music snobs.
