At The Drive-In Are Back

So, it was announced the other day that At The Drive-In are reforming to play at Coachella Festival. They might play other gigs apart from the festival, but this is all that has been put out so far. Quite a few hardcore heads are up in arms about it, probably thinking that they’ve sold out. I don’t really care if they have sold out, I’ve just never managed to get over missing them when they played Belfast years ago. I was all set to go to the show, then the word spread that there were no tickets left. I didn’t bother heading along, and it turned out that it was just a rumour, and that there were even scalpers outside the venue selling tickets for cheaper than they were on the door. I’ll never get over it. Ever.
Anyway, I thought I’d use the news as an excuse to post my favourite ATD-I song ‘Pickpocket’. It’s from their second album In/Casino/Out, which is my favourite. Most people love Relationship Of Command more, and while it is great, there is something about the sound of In/Casino/Out that I can’t get enough of. It just sings to my ears.
If you’re lucky enough to catch them at Coachella, you sicken me. Fingers crossed they’ll do a bit more touring though.

Yo! Welcome to the GIGANTIC blog. The primary purpose of this place is to promote music that we’re into, and that we’d like other people to hear too. We want to try and help break new bands and tracks, and also like to dig up old classics that we think need more exposure. Essentially, we want to help makes tunes Gigantic. Of course, we do enjoy throwing out the big pop and electro bangers as well, we’re not music snobs.
