A Song By Girls, And Some Songs About Girls

OK, let’s just put this out there quickly – the Girls album is really really poorly named, but what it loses in moniker quality it more than makes up for in brilliance. It has been a firm fixture on the AU office stereo, and anyone I know who has heard it has kept it on repeat for a good while thereafter. Seriously though, it’s called Album, do they have some sort of imagination problem?
Anyways, there are tons of good tracks on the record, but for some reason this one has been sticking out. It’s hella long, but also hella good, and it really reminds me of Elvis Costello, in a good way. Pick up the long player now from all the usual outlets.

The band name also lead to thinking about how many good songs there are about girls, or with girls in the title. We could have ran a whole week of ‘Girl’ related song posts, but thought it best to stick to a few peaches. Let us know what if you think there are better girl-titled songs out there.

Yo! Welcome to the GIGANTIC blog. The primary purpose of this place is to promote music that we’re into, and that we’d like other people to hear too. We want to try and help break new bands and tracks, and also like to dig up old classics that we think need more exposure. Essentially, we want to help makes tunes Gigantic. Of course, we do enjoy throwing out the big pop and electro bangers as well, we’re not music snobs.
